Ralph Kabban
Chief Executive Officer
Ralph has 30 years of experience in the insurance sector having worked in the London reinsurance and Lloyd’s of London market in the first half of his career. He then co-founded UIB (DIFC) Ltd. back in 2006. Ralph then decided to take over the helm for UIB’s Emirates operations and re-launched UIB’s onshore operations in the Emirates back in 2017. Ralph has been able to achieve double-digit growth for UIB’s offices in the Emirates in the last five years. Prior to co-founding UIB (DIFC) Ltd.’s operations, Ralph had co-founded the UIB India operations setting up the foundations for UIB India’s growth which now stands at 7 offices in India.
Through many of the above roles, one job description has remained constant – the client facing strategizing of holistic insurance programs for various MENA companies for all of their ‘Risk Transfer’ needs e.g., Group Medical, Construction Facilities, Political Risks, Professional Indemnity, Power, Downstream Oil & Gas, amongst others.

Mazen El Yamani

Mazen brings to the forefront an illustrious career spanning over 35 years in the insurance industry. With a robust foundation established at UIB Group’s former sister company AIB in Beirut, he has evolved into a seasoned professional with an extensive understanding of various corporate insurance classes, showcasing particular excellence in the intricate domains of Engineering and Civil Construction. Mazen’s mastery in navigating the complexities of the insurance landscape highlights his standing as a trusted leader within UIB.
Since his integration into UIB in the Emirates in 2007, Mazen has consistently demonstrated his extensive knowledge of the Middle Eastern and international insurance markets. In his current role as the Head of Commercial Lines at UIB, Mazen efficiently manages a team of account executives entrusted with steering new business initiatives, overseeing renewals, and managing complex commercial insurances.

Tausif Patel
Head of Employee Benefits
Tausif heads the Employee Benefits division at UIB overseeing the entire Medical and Life portfolio, which includes placement, client servicing, wellness program implementation, operations, and claims management. Tausif is involved in implementing strategic growth plans along with upscaling and supporting Business Development.
He joined UIB in 2014 and has worked in various roles in the Insurance Industry over the past decade.
With a background that started in computer science and the banking sector, Tausif comes in with a vast technical knowledge in risk analysis & mitigation, techno-marketing and risk strategising.
Zaheer Iqbal
Head of Finance
Zaheer comes with a rich and lengthy background spanning over 25 years in his professional career. He started off his career with a “Big Four” Audit Firm. He later worked for global fortune 500 companies in the Middle Eastern insurance sector. Prior to joining UIB in the Emirates, he was the group CFO at the largest Takaful insurer in the UAE, with multiple offices in the region. He has been associated with the insurance sector for 21 years.
Zaheer currently heads the finance department of UIB in the Emirates, providing strategic support to stakeholders, in addition to managing the preparation of financial statements and related regulatory reporting.
Zaheer was a team member in the operational review of insurance sector reforms on behalf of the Asian Development Bank. He has managed multi-billion-dirham investments on behalf of policy holders and shareholder’s funds and has a keen interest in risk and solvency management for companies. He has also been a team member in a few corporate M&A deals.
Hazeena Krishnan
Head of Technical
Hazeena has over 14 years of experience in the UAE’s insurance market. She started her insurance career with a prominent insurer, before moving on to the client-side, performing the role of insurance expert within reputed Asset Manager. Prior to joining UIB in the Emirates, Hazeena had also worked for a prominent multi-national broker similar to UIB in profile.
Hazeena has a very strong grasp of the technical aspects of most classes of insurances and has worked with clients from multiple industries and sectors. She is experienced in the design and structuring of pure risk transfer and mitigation programmes for complex risks belonging to large corporates. Her forte however, is construction and insurance facilities for developers and contractors.

Tausif heads the Employee Benefits division at UIB overseeing the entire Medical and Life portfolio, which includes placement, client servicing, wellness program implementation, operations, and claims management. Tausif is involved in implementing strategic growth plans along with upscaling and supporting Business Development.
He joined UIB in 2014 and has worked in various roles in the Insurance Industry over the past decade.
With a background that started in computer science and the banking sector, Tausif comes in with a vast technical knowledge in risk analysis & mitigation, techno-marketing and risk strategising.
Zaheer Iqbal
Head of Finance
Zaheer comes with a rich and lengthy background spanning over 25 years in his professional career. He started off his career with a “Big Four” Audit Firm. He later worked for global fortune 500 companies in the Middle Eastern insurance sector. Prior to joining UIB in the Emirates, he was the group CFO at the largest Takaful insurer in the UAE, with multiple offices in the region. He has been associated with the insurance sector for 21 years.
Zaheer currently heads the finance department of UIB in the Emirates, providing strategic support to stakeholders, in addition to managing the preparation of financial statements and related regulatory reporting.
Zaheer was a team member in the operational review of insurance sector reforms on behalf of the Asian Development Bank. He has managed multi-billion-dirham investments on behalf of policy holders and shareholder’s funds and has a keen interest in risk and solvency management for companies. He has also been a team member in a few corporate M&A deals.
Hazeena Krishnan

Hazeena has over 14 years of experience in the UAE’s insurance market. She started her insurance career with a prominent insurer, before moving on to the client-side, performing the role of insurance expert within reputed Asset Manager. Prior to joining UIB in the Emirates, Hazeena had also worked for a prominent multi-national broker similar to UIB in profile.
Hazeena has a very strong grasp of the technical aspects of most classes of insurances and has worked with clients from multiple industries and sectors. She is experienced in the design and structuring of pure risk transfer and mitigation programmes for complex risks belonging to large corporates. Her forte however, is construction and insurance facilities for developers and contractors.

Ralph has 30 years of experience in the insurance sector having worked in the London reinsurance and Lloyd’s of London market in the first half of his career. He then co-founded UIB (DIFC) Ltd. back in 2006. Ralph then decided to take over the helm for UIB’s Emirates operations and re-launched UIB’s onshore operations in the Emirates back in 2017. Ralph has been able to achieve double-digit growth for UIB’s offices in the Emirates in the last five years. Prior to co-founding UIB (DIFC) Ltd.’s operations, Ralph had co-founded the UIB India operations setting up the foundations for UIB India’s growth which now stands at 7 offices in India.
